- OBJECTIFS:
The Licence in Applied Cybersecurity aims to train highly qualified professionals capable of addressing the growing and complex challenges of digital security. The program is developed within the framework of a strategic partnership between Abdelmalek Essaadi University and the Higher Education Without Borders (HEWB) Foundation, and aligns with Morocco’s national digital transformation strategy.
This program has several key objectives:
- To offer rigorous and practice-oriented training that meets the increasing demand for cybersecurity professionals at both regional and national levels.
- To equip students with the skills required to detect, prevent, and respond to cyber threats, as well as to secure digital infrastructures and protect sensitive data.
- To foster innovation through a student-centered pedagogical model that integrates hybrid learning (in-person, synchronous and asynchronous), project-based learning, and hands-on labs.
- To contribute to the diversification of the Faculty’s academic offering, ensuring territorial equity in access to high-demand digital skills training.
- To support graduates' integration into the job market by aligning the curriculum with international standards and certifications (e.g., Security+, CySA+, CEH).
- Upon graduation, students will be immediately operational and ready to support public and private organizations in their cybersecurity needs, whether in auditing, incident response, digital forensics, or secure system design.
- COMPETENCES :
Throughout the program, students will progressively develop a set of technical, methodological, and transversal competencies tailored to the realities of the cybersecurity profession.
Graduates of the Licence in Applied Cybersecurity will be able to:
- Analyze and assess cybersecurity risks and vulnerabilities in systems, networks, applications, and data infrastructures.
- Implement and manage defense mechanisms, such as firewalls, SIEM tools, intrusion detection/prevention systems (IDS/IPS), and encryption protocols.
- Conduct incident response and digital investigations using forensic tools and techniques, including memory analysis, log inspection, and recovery of deleted data.
- Perform ethical hacking and penetration testing to identify and report system flaws, in compliance with legal and ethical standards.
- Apply international cybersecurity standards and frameworks, such as NIST, ISO 27001, OWASP Top 10, and MITRE ATT&CK.
- Communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders, providing clear documentation, reports, and recommendations.
- Use a range of cybersecurity tools and platforms, including Wireshark, Splunk, OpenVAS, Metasploit, and various Linux/Windows utilities.
- Collaborate in multidisciplinary teams, manage projects, and demonstrate leadership in securing digital assets.
- Engage in continuous learning and adaptation, in a fast-evolving digital threat landscape.
These competencies will prepare graduates to assume roles such as Security Analyst, SOC Operator, Cybersecurity Auditor, Digital Forensics Investigator, Penetration Tester, or Security Consultant.
