In its first global summit to take place outside of the United States, NAFSA convened more than 200 international education leaders at the city of Tangier during 19-22 January, 2026 to discuss the future of higher education and emerging university models in the context of global technological transformations.
The event was marked by a keynote speech delivered in English by Professor Bouchta El Moumni, President of Abdelmalek Essaadi University, on behalf of His Excellency Minister Azzedine El Midaoui, the minister of Higher Education, Research and Innovation.
